Flowers, sage, veil, cake, blade, palms, blood, bridge, crosses, bouquets, wax, veins... it's all about context, and boy does this song bring it.

I do not only love this song but all of her. She has an angelical voice but her lyrics are far from it. She's unique and should be listened by everyone.
i’m going to get married today
the chapel is full of flowers and sage
he’ll lift up my veil and he will say
"are you sure that you love me?
are you sure you can wait?"
he cuts into the wedding cake
and licks the frosting off the blade
he cuts into our palms
drops our blood into the lake
we stand on the bridge
and give ourselves away
i can be good, i can be true
you know i don’t love anyone
but i love you
i’m going to get married today
the chapel is full of
crosses and bouquets
we pray to the wax bride and
her violet varicose veins
kiss me with forever where
only death remains
i can be good, i can be true
you know i don’t love anyone
but i love you
i’m going to get married today
so please don’t touch me
please stay away
i know i’m not good,
i’ve never been true
but you know that i love him
and i don’t love you
Such a dark, utterly hellish yet also gorgeous sound. I understand why one may not connect with your old music, but I’m at least glad she chose to put some renditions of her pre-Ethel Cain stuff on here. Absolutely obsessed with Churchyard and its grandiose ethereal wave sound, but Hospital Beds II is next level shit, I don’t know if I’ve ever heard better vocals than those on the that second vocal crescendo towards the end, absolutely blows me away every single time iristhesiren
